Fitness Recap 11/18-11/24/17

Uh oh. I completely forgot to write my fitness recap this past week.  Having a few extra days off from work seems to have screwed up my internal clock.  But, alas, I am writing it now.  We’re just going to get right down with the nitty gritty.   Saturday: Treadmill workout Sunday: 3.1 mile runContinue reading “Fitness Recap 11/18-11/24/17”

Recap 11/11-11/17/17

This past week had some success and some short comings with my goals.  I wanted to run/walk every day in order to assist my Quidditch team to the finish line and provide the winning pot of money to Back on My Feet.  I was also going to continue to write everything down and make sureContinue reading “Recap 11/11-11/17/17”

5k Recap

The first 5k of the season is in the books.  This past Saturday, I participated in the Run to the Resurrection 5k held at a local church.  I’ve enjoyed this race over the last couple of years for a few reasons.  First, the entry fee is literally a few can goods or a small donation.Continue reading “5k Recap”

T25 derailment

Well, I took a break from the T25 program.  Not because I wasn’t enjoying myself and feeling like I was getting a good workout.  I took a break because I have been able  to get out and enjoy a nice jog a few times throughout the past two weeks.  Our crap-tastic Ohio weather has variedContinue reading “T25 derailment”

Gearing Up for a 5k

It’s that time again! Races have started and I haven’t made it to the starting line yet.  That is all going to change on April 4th!  I will be completing my first 5k of the season and my first time pushing Hailey in the stroller.  The past few years I have participated in the RunContinue reading “Gearing Up for a 5k”

Positive Compliments

This should be a good thing, right?  Well, the person who is giving the compliment is being sincere and obviously feels it is important enough to mention it out loud.  However, the person receiving the compliment could probably take a few lessons.  I am definitely someone that needs to learn how to accept a compliment.Continue reading “Positive Compliments”

I miss running!

I’m sure my 6th grade self is absolutely kicking herself in the butt for even saying that phrase.  I joined the track team thinking I would enjoy running.  I was slow, but could run longer distances than most.  I was therefore slated to run the 400 and 800 (which now seems like a sprint distance).Continue reading “I miss running!”

Winter blues

Well, if you are like most people in the north, you are completely over the winter weather. It can be completely draining to constantly have to bundle up and stay in doors.  I hate being cooped up in the house, but with a 6 month old in the picture now, I don’t venture out justContinue reading “Winter blues”

The glorious mile!

It was the start of the second week in February 2015 and the weather was 48*…that’s right, I said 48 degrees!  When you are blessed with a day out of the norm, then you must capitalize as much as you can.  So, I had my mother-in-law and sister-in-law watch little Hailey to log some milesContinue reading “The glorious mile!”

Set a Realistic Goal

Columbus marathon…registered.  I may be considered insane by some standards, and trust me I am already asking myself what was I thinking?  Well, I have no idea what I was thinking except that my mom did it and therefore I have to do one.  When I was watching her and the thousands of other runnersContinue reading “Set a Realistic Goal”
